Weekender, Part V :: Union Street Guest House
We chose the Library Room at the Union Street Guest House for our stay. Since it had been recommended by the likes of Travel+Leisure, Martha Stewart and fashion news site Refinery29, I figured it was a good bet. And good choice it was.
A Greek Revival Style home, the Guest House had high ceilings, lots of historic architectural charm and décor that was part vintage, part quirky. Our “room” really felt more like an apartment than a hotel…
Just steps from Warren Street, this was the perfect home base for our time in Hudson and the perfect place to unwind after so much walking. We also liked that the owners gave us plenty of privacy—after checking in we were on our own to come and go as we pleased. I do wish we’d checked out the guest lounge in the main house, above the lobby, though. The lobby had this rustic and steampunk vibe that was just kind of funky, so I’m sure the lounge would’ve been an interesting place to kick up for a bit.
{The cozy sitting area with a great historic fireplace.}
{Loved the french doors leading into the bedroom, then to the bathroom. Just a nice open, overall flow.}
{The mirror detail on this door really caught my eye, and I strangely quite liked that buffalo photograph.}
