Contents :: In the Bag
I love seeing what other women have in their handbags, what they see as essentials to carry around daily. About 10 years ago Kate Spade published a limited-edition book devoted to this topic that showcased the contents of various women’s bags and each owner’s occupation. I was lucky enough to snap up two copies of it—the first coffee table book I ever bought—one for my sister and one for me. Inspired by that book and a recent decluttering (read: removal of copious amounts of receipts and scribbled-on post-it notes), I thought I’d share what’s currently in my own bag.*
My bag: Ann Taylor (no longer available) | 1. Dr. Hunter’s Rose Hand Creme | 2. Graphic, colorful matchbook from Elizabeth Street Cafe in Austin | 3. Smith’s Rosebud Salve | 4. Mini Moleskin notebook + my favorite Sharpie pen | 5. Ray-Ban Wayfarers in tortoise | 6. Lodis Mini Card Case in red | 7. Marc by Marc Jacobs wallet in orange | 8. Small wooden tape measure (for impromptu furniture shopping) | 9. iPhone (planning to order this case) | 10. Aveda Blue Oil roll-on (for migraines + stress relief) | 11. Caudalie Beauty Elixir (an energizing facial spritz) | 12. Starbucks Sugar-Free Classic Mints (for eliminating post-espresso breath).
*Other items that make frequent appearances in my bag include: My camera, Yosi Samra fold-up flats and bareMinerals powder sunscreen.
So now that I’ve spilled mine, I’d love to know—what’s in your bag?
